Michael Chibba is Managing Director and Board Member of the International Centre for Development Effectiveness and Poverty Reduction; and concurrently, Director and Practice Leader of Canadian International Development Consultants. From 2001–2006, he served as Permanent Member of the Independent Investigation Mechanism of the Inter-American Development Bank and, in 2006, he was a Commonwealth Policy Adviser overseas through appointment by the Commonwealth Secretariat. His work in the development field spans three decades with service to a broad range of organisations, including multilateral and bilateral institutions, private and public sectors, and non-governmental organisations. In addition to managing development projects and technical assistance, he has an extensive record of providing advisory services to governments and international organisations worldwide. He has also taught and conducted capacitybuilding activities throughout the world. His papers have been widely published, including recent (and forthcoming) articles in Development in Practice, Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies, Perspectives, Public Money and Management and The European Journal of Development Research.
