Mahmoud Mohieldin is Managing Director of the World Bank, responsible for the Bank’s knowledge development as represented through the Networks: Finance and Private Sector Development; Sustainable Development; Poverty Reduction and Economic Management; Human Development; and the World Bank Institute. As the World Bank’s representative at the G20 Deputies’ Meetings, he also oversees the Bank’s work in support of the group’s agenda. Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr Mohieldin held numerous positions in the Government of Egypt. He was a member of the Commission on Growth and Development. He served as Board Member of several universities, regional research centres and think tanks. As a Professor of Economics, he has authored numerous publications and articles in leading economic journals. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Economics and Social Policy Analysis from the University of York.
