Wilfred Beckerman worked in the OECD 1952–61; the NIESR 1961–63; Fellow of Balliol College, Oxford, 1964–69 and 1975–92; Professor of Political Economy at University College London, 1969–75; he is an Emeritus Fellow of Balliol College, Oxford, and currently an Honorary Visiting Professor of Economics, University College London. He was also the Economic Advisor to the President of the Board of Trade, 1967–69 [on leave from Balliol]; a member of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution, 1970–73; and a consultant to various international organisations.
