Friedrich Wu is an adjunct associate professor at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Prior to joining academia, he was a vice president/head of economic research at the DBS Bank, the largest banking group in Singapore and in Southeast Asia, for 17 years (1985–2001), and a director of economics at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade & Industry for five years (2001–05). His 80-plus book chapters, peer-reviewed academic journal articles, and newspaper and magazine op-eds cover a wide range of economic, financial and political issues in Asia. He obtained his PhD from the University of Washington, Seattle, US.
